The brother of Noah Presgrove, whose body ended up on the side of the highway on Sept. 4, 2023, is speaking out as new details about the Oklahoma teen's final hours were revealed in a full autopsy report.

Although the nine-page report, which was obtained by PEOPLE on Monday, May 13, contained new information about what happened the night before Presgrove was found on the Jefferson County highway by a passing truck driver, how he got there remains a mystery.

“We’re still at square one,” Noah’s brother, Dailen Presgrove tells PEOPLE.

Noah’s full autopsy showed that the teen endured extensive injuries, among them a split skull, swollen and lacerated brain, and broken ribs and died of “multiple blunt force injuries” to the head, neck, torso and other extremities.

But how he got those injuries officially remains “undetermined.”

“The report answers some questions but also raises many more,” Dailen says after reviewing the report."I'm at a loss of words."

The investigation into Noah’s death remains open, Sarah Stewart of the Oklahoma’s Department of Public Safety confirmed to PEOPLE earlier this month, noting that authorities are not investigating the case as a murder.

As the family waits for answers, they're also looking to take things into their own hands, raising money on GoFundMe to hire a private investigator, who can put “new eyes” on the facts and “solve the case."

PEOPLE reached out to Stewart regarding the family’s intention to hire a private investigator, as well as for a comment on the full autopsy report and the narrative of events described in the report. She did not respond in time for publication.

In a narrative describing the circ*mstances of Noah’s death included in the report, authorities say that on Sept. 3, 2023, Noah — who had graduated high school that May and planned to join the military with his cousin the following year — was drinking at a house party and “then he rode an ATV ranger vehicle with several men that had a roll over incident.”

Noah “was alive following the incident,” and, returning to the party, “he got into an argument,” before leaving the party, per the summary. (Although the report names Noah's girlfriend as the person he got into a fight with, Noah's brother says that from his understanding, she was not at that party, and that Noah was arguing with somebody else. Police did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.)

When a trucker found Noah’s body along the highway early the next morning, he was naked, wearing only mismatched shoes, according to the autopsy report. More “debris and grass” were clumped in the laces of the Adidas left shoe than the Hey Dudes right shoe.

The outline of a stick figure was scrawled on his right thigh — though it's not clear from the report how old the drawing was or if it could have been added by Noah himself before he died. "Three pieces of a white metal chain as well as part of a tooth” were also within feet of his body.

However, “no vehicle parts or debris,” were spotted nearby, per the report, which his brother says suggests that it was not the scene of a hit and run.

But eight months later, the strange scene still sparks more questions than answers, his brother says. Why was Noah wearing mismatched shoes? Why were his shorts on the highway and not on his body? What really happened to the high school athlete?

“There are many conflicting accounts of that night,” Dailen says. “With so much time passing, it seems that the stories are changing. Other times it feels that they are reading off of a script. It’s hard to trust anyone.”

With partygoers passing in and out of the Oklahoma home where the party took place, investigators have collected evidence from their phones, piecing together Snapchats, videos and text messages about the party but still coming up with an incomplete timeline of events, Dailen claims.

“It doesn’t make sense that the investigation has been going on for so long, and there were so many people around, and, yet, there’s still so much uncertainty,” Dailen said in a previous interview with PEOPLE. “And it doesn’t make sense that a good person like Noah is gone in such a cruel and unknown way.”
